has a visitor from outer space taken all the1991 D cents. or has the government secretly taken them back or is there a conspiracy to keep them out of circulation. or did west Virginia possibly ban them ? i went through fifty dollars Ind finally found one.according to the 2007 red book there was 4,158,446,076 minted . you would figure there would be more than one in 5000 cents. i needed one to finish a cent book. i just didn't think i would have to go through this many to find one . :desk:

sorry for the ranting but every time i close my eyes i see cents

I'm still looking for a 1970 Canadian dime. There were only 5 million and some made, but you'd think I could find one. I've been looking for two years (I estimate I've searched in the 5 figures so far!) I've come up with 4 silver dimes, a couple of British 5 pence, but not a lousy stinking 1970, which is worth all of 10 cents!

Not to make you feel left out, I'm still looking for a 1991D penny too. I've got my sister in LA on the case for me, but I don't think she's taking it as seriously as the two of us. :(

I've been looking for 2 years for one, and I refuse to buy one! I have managed to find 4 silver dimes though. I would have thought that I'd find the 1970 before scoring some silver!

You made me curious, so I just looked to see if the 1970 was one of the modern Canadian dimes I'm missing (I refuse to pay a premium for coins I know circulate up north, so the modern Canadian dimes has been going slowly as I pluck the random one that makes its way into circulation in the US or find them in friends and relatives hoards). I do have one in my collection, though it's kind of rough looking. No spares though.

I remember collecting Jeffersons from circulation a while back. While the early years were hard to come by, the 1994 P hole stayed open a long time for reasons I can't explain.
