The Baltimore Whitman Coin Show is scheduled for mid-July.
Normally it's the end of June.
    Anyone know why?

My best guess is that there were scheduling conflicts at the Baltimore Convention Center.

There is an electronics expo from 6/22-6/27 in the convention center. I think that's a big enough event to deter Whitman from making the show end of June. If i were Whitman i would book when the least amount of people are going to be in the convention center so there is less chance or a robbery or something.

It was back in October when I was told the show would be in July, so this is not a recent development. I think it far less likely that the change was in reaction to other exhibitions, or types of exhibitions, as to availability of the desired space.

It may be that the cost of the customary week / space was driven up by higher-paying industries. Manufacturers of electronics, and consumer electronics in particular, have swollen marketing budgets compared to that for coin dealers, so this wouldn't surprise me in the least.

In fact, the Winter FUN Show in Orlando has had to relocate for several years, for reasons unknown to me. It would not be unreasonable to speculate that the SURF Expo which exhibits during the same week, and absolutely dwarfs the FUN Show in both size and scope, is leveraging it size for more exhibit space. This may have prompted the OCCC to decline exibit space to FUN for 2016 - 2018, during which years the show is relocating to Tampa and Ft Lauderdale, returning to Orlando in 2019, or so I am told.

It should make for a better show as no one will still be at seminar.
