There looks to be something at the neck just above the pearl necklace and feature behind the ribbon between the ribbon and the bottom curl in the hair.

There appears to be a feature in the middle of the second 8 as well.

This is not in Cherrypicker's and I don't have Snow's book.

Can anyone identify this and identify if it is indeed a variety?

    Thank you for any help!

Looks to me like small unknown Die Chips on both areas.

In the second edition of Rick Snows attribution it show an 1884 S2 with "light repunching on the second 8." However, it shows on both the upper and lower loops of the 8. I see nothing about the neck issue. It may be a new variety. You could send it to Rick for an evaluation. Check out Eagle Eye Rare Coins @ eagleeye.greatcoins.com Good luck.

The S-2 variety is a repunched second 8 only, correct? Thanks.

It is however an 1884 MPD- 001 there are a few die pairs one with the star in the reverse shield and one with out.
This is without. Nice find as it is a variety IHC.
This die is paired with the star reverse as well as the non - variety reverses .
The star variety is also paired with a non variety die. Finding all three die marriages is an extra challenge and very accomplishing mini set as no other die multi marriages are known in the entire series .
Also listed as MPD 002 and FND 002.
Nice find and pick up. :)

Great information @Paddy54 and thank you for providing it! So is this 1884 MPD-001 designated as a Snow or Fivaz-Stanton variety? Any knowledge on the rarity of this particular MPD?

    Thanks again!

Thanks for the link. Maybe MPD-003 (Snow-5)? Has a very similar feature behind the ribbon that between the ribbon and the hair curl.

Still doesn't have the feature on the second 8 that my coin has though?

Maybe you should send it in as it maybe another sub variety or possibly a new one. In any case To me this one is a keeper as stated in my last post it's a key stone to the set of varieties for the 1884 IHC.

Yes, it may very well be a new sub variety or variety. Russell and I exchanged multiple emails last night and he is going to get some additional feedback over the weekend from some other experts. I'm hoping to to hear back from him at the end of the weekend to learn what he has discovered. Thanks again for the help!
