I have to agree. I felt like so awful after telling Coin Talk members the absolute TRUTH regarding this cent...Then along comes a collector who did nothing but make me feel terrible...thanks to all of you who are following along....and I can assure you, there is no "Gotcha ya" in the information I have given. I asked for help, and got it. I was told to send it in. I did. Now it is wait and see....The grading company will not tell me anything until they have completed their tests. When I know, good or bad, you will know. Sincerely, Girldly
I wish to thank all the collectors who have assisted us with this coin. Have a great Memorial Weekend! Girldly
Well said Jan, let's not forget about the heroes that make these conversations and our freedoms happen. Please, if you can spare a moment, go donate some life giving blood for my heroes. Small sacrifices of us who rely on them can make a world of difference to a family.
Even if he (the banned member) was correct in his assumptions, there was absolutely no reason for his attitude and mean spiritedness.
Agreed. Also, as Jim explained, this is not a permanent "ban" but a temporary one. Think of it as the online equivalent of a cold shower or ice bucket. Christian
This is no "Gotcha" thread. This is a person in their home wondering what that cent is? Why the color? Why the perfect weight of a cent? All we want are answers, and the grading company will provide those. At that time, I will scan the information to those who have followed this thread. Thank you. I did say I felt bad about that person being removed...even tho that person was not kind or helpful. We are not the kind of people who waste our lives doing something like this. Now that we are in week 3, we should know something soon. Thank you everyone for being so helpful. Girldly
I'm guessing the magic milk carton came back genuine harshly cleaned and she's too embarrassed to say anything.
I hope she gets the level of detail from the graders she is hoping for. Color me skeptical. I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
I'm just hoping for closure. I know it won't make girldly feel any better, but this thread could help other beginning collectors to try to research every possible option before spending $450. I don't think I've read a single one of these type threads in which the OP comes back and says it wasn't the treasure they hoped for. If girldly does close this out with bad news, she'll get nothing but respect and condolences from me.
Excuse me, sir, but I do believe your cent is turning blue. Is it cold, or oxygen deprivation, do you think?
I spoke with a man at the ANA and his statement was that since the U.S. MINT did make the coin, it will most likely come back as an error coin...Then he said it is an 'NYP" coin....He was so nice, and he made me laugh. Nice people there.
I will keep my promise, I just have not checked in yet, because I have no answers yet. Trust me, when I know, you will know. Good or Bad. Thank you.
Does PCGS offer a way to check your status online when you submit coins? I know NGC did when I submitted coins to them. What does the online status say for yours, Girldly?
