    I just finished reading the April 30th issue of
    NN. I think it's the first issue since Alan Herbert
    died (Jan. 19) that didn't have a letter to the editor
    praising him, lamenting his passing, or both. I
    can't recall any well known numismatist getting
    even of fraction of the attention The AnswerMan
    got.

    RIP Alan Herbert

    That is sad. After all of those decades, I would think the magazine would owe him a large writeup.

    His was always the first column I'd read........We'll all miss him.

    Oh they gave him a nice write up. I'm just saying I never
    saw so many letters about someone who died. He really
    impressed a lot people over the years.

    I heard his son got all of his coins and sold them to get Bruins season tickets for life. Nice.

    yah... just so you know... his son is a Wildcat (AZ)fan and would never buy Bruins tickets. Also should be noted that Alan was NOT a coin collector... he just had some that he liked. RIP Grandpa Alan...
