What ONE coin would you want to have in the entire world more than anything if you could financially afford it? grade as well, and if you have a picture of one, then please post :D Take some deep breaths, exhale, and let your imagination roam free :D

Here is the one that I would pay mad money for, if I had more than chump change :D

    ND's Dollar

The coin that brought tears to mah eyes, the only one ever to do that, simply beauty of a coin, I suppose I better start sellin a whole lot of wheaties :D

No doubt about it. It would have to be the "King".

Isn't she the most purrrrrrtiest thing you ever saw??

Thank goodness for Teddy Roosevelt for making the redesign of American coins an issue. Apparently, he wasn't a Barber fan, but these high relief 1907 coins are simply beautiful.

You know i think i'm in a minority but i just don't really like the St. Gaudens $20, i much prefer the Liberty $20 by miles and miles.

My favourite of the new 1907+ gold coins is undoubtedly the forgotten $10. You can keep all the incuse junk and the $20, but the $10 i want one!

Oh i'd have either a Louis XIV Gold Louis D'Or (picture time GD?)

One of GD's hammered gold King John Francs. Or some kind of Proof Liberty Nickel!! :D

A little older than my primary interest area, but -

1860-62 Man-en Oban Kin, black ink on 112.4g .344 gold alloyed with silver, 81x137mm. These are quite rare with no flaking of the ink and the Krause values of $18-25,000 in VF-XF are a joke. At the 2003 Osaka Coin Show I saw an Uncirculated one with perfect inking. It was priced at a 25% premium over the JNDA catalog value of ¥6-million (~$54,500) by a dealer whose other showcase items ranged from 80-100% of JNDA values.

Anything huh? How about the original US Mint trial pieces offered in 1796?

One day very soon, I will have to travel over to the darkside to learn more about these early pieces GDJMSP shows us here. Breathtaking to say the least :D

Something for my type set. Probably a capped bust small eagle $10 or a draped bust, small eagle half.

Well, for my personal astonishment, I am still stuck on the Walking Victory from Syracuse.

However, for the One Coin I Will Never be Able to Afford, it is this archaic example of coin history, a true museum piece, "Phanes Emi Semi."

Yes I do, very much. Too bad I'd have to sell the house to buy it. :D

I can't match any of these. Mine would be a 1948 CDN silver dollar. It's my brother's birth year and I would love to give him a year set. I have all the other coins but the dollar in any grade is out of my price range.

These are all beautiful coins and I'd certainly like to have one of each. But my favorite "must" have is quite simple, quite readily available, BUT too much for my coin collecting budget.

1877 Indian Head Cent -- I really only need to have it in XF45 to match my set, but for this post I'll say MS65 Red. Like my avatar
