I thought I bought a Maximianus, it turned out to be a Galerius, but to be honest I was more interested in the Genius on the reverse, two photos of the coin, the second pics are tilted to show the sheen.

Very nice details on the reverse! My similar example, Galerius...

    Hadrian Denarius

Obv:- HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS P P, laureate bust right
Rev:- COS III, Genius, draped at waist, standing left, holding patera and cornucopia, no altar
    Minted in eastern mint.

    Additional information from Curtis Clay:-

"I don't doubt the Genius coin is Eastern, though I don't find that obv. die among the many illustrated by Strack.

The letter forms are typical, for example P P at end of obv. legend tending to look like I I, and the slanting S of COS on the reverse. The slightly clumsy style of the types is also typical.

As you say,the Roman model showed an altar before the Genius. Eastern specimens are known accurately copying that type, with altar, Strack *31. ....... Yours is a new variant, with altar omitted. "

I have several of the 'Genio' reverses on coins of that era as the OP by Pish, so I'll choose one that appears to display the most detail.......although they are about 'equal'...

    The posts are fantastic!!!

    TIF Always learning.

I really like the "holding a head" version, Martin. Great coin!

I have a modest example of Maximian, with patera instead of head.

Martin's coin put me in mind of this one, this genius is lacking a six pack, nor does it have Martin's belly button (so to speak). It has pretty colours though.
