    The Constantine II is a solid, well detailed coin, but I think it is a common enough coin. The SS denarius is rather rough, but it too is nice enough. Have you attributed the coins?

    The Constantine II is attributed as RIC VII Antioch 73. RIC lists it as an R1 (rare, but not extemely so). Once again RIC's rarity tables are not accurate, but it gives us some idea.

    CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C, laureate, draped, cuirassed bust left / PROVIDEN-TIAE CAESS, campgate, 6-11 layers, two turrets, star above. Dot in doorway. Mintmark SMANT delta

    The Septimius Severus is harder to attribute since much of the legend is missing on the obverse. I believe it would attribute as one of two coins:
    RIC 87 or 105, Rome mint, L SEPT SEV PERT AVG IMP VIII or VIIII, laureate head right / P M TR P V COS II P P, Genius standing left, sacrificing out of patera over altar & holding corn ears

    There are other members much more qualified to give you their comments on these two coins, but for what it's worth, I like them both! I think the campgate in particular is very nice.

    ... just jokes ... but I'm gonna toss-in my two cents anyway ...

    The campgates have a pretty cool reverse, but they are quite common, so unless they are really sweet lookin' I don't usually give them a second glance (but this one is really sweet lookin' => so congrats on a nice addition)

    Originally, I thought that the reverse on the Sep-Sev was Hercules with a lion-skin (which would have been amazingly cool), but I'm assuming that Bing is correct and the reverse is merely a genius holding grain-ears instead of a pelt? (Bing is pretty sharp at times ... yah, I guess the dude isn't holding his club, so that should have been a dead-giveaway) ... the grain-ears don't seem quite as neat as the lion-skin, but the coin is still pretty awesome ... plus, it's always nice adding ancient-silver to your hoard, eh?

    Congrats on adding two pretty cool coins to your growing ancient collection

    :rolleyes::rolleyes:
