I've used them for both auction and their '24 hour deals'. I would say that I like them better than Heritage. Their shipping seemed more reasonable and they were leaps and bounds faster getting the package out to me. I've only used them twice, but I would use them again. Hopefully that helped answer your question.
I buy from them almost every week. Extremely fast shipping and very reasonable cost. Sometimes you have to search for the good deal because a lot of their opening bids are already at a high price.
I've looked at their listing but since my wantlist is short and in narrow categories I've had no dealings with them yet.
They are the best for both buying and selling with their low commission. After Teletrade was bought by Stacks Bowers their auctions went south. I've had a few good transactions with Heritage. A few months after purchasing a coin from one of their internet auctions I got notified that another collector was interested in purchasing the coin at a 50% premium.
Thanx I was hoping someone would post a positive comment about them before I sell some Franklin 50c thru them.
Call Ian and talk to him. I've chatted with him at shows and it's a good vibe. He'll be able to walk you through the process and answer all your questions. He's also present on most of the boards. He's really good about not reflexively jumping in to defend GC. When he does respond it's to apologize for the snafu and report it's been resolved. He really cares - I've emailed him at off hours and often get a response that evening, certainly the next morning.
Bought all right from them. My concern, like most other auction houses today, is to find a really great deal is difficult. Too many people using them, instead of Dealers.
What is this place exactly? If and when I sell coins, I'd rather sell at coin-related places then Ebay.
