That's huge for a 20 Euro medal-coin.It certainly has a long way to go before it can beat the Austrian Coinzilla in size.

And if you cannot get that beast, there is another one, also 5 oz and mintage 500, dedicated to Vauban.

From what I have read, a French dealer - Europassion - ordered many (most?) of the Brocéliande/Merlin coins. That kilo coin is planned in Canada ... guess I'll skip that one too. :D

Christian, what is being planned in Canada is a gold 100 Kilo Coinzilla denominated at C$1,000,000! You certainly wouldn't want to drop it on your foot, that is,if it is ever struck!

Ah right, got the figures mixed up ... Hmm, the Australian Kookaburra silver coin also comes as a 1 kg piece, but that has been around for a while.

By the way, strictly speaking that Canadian gold beast will never be "struck". The Big Phil pieces, for example, were cast and then (CNC?) milled ... in Switzerland, I think.

You'd better report that 20 Euros to Krause.

That Brocéliande piece is available as a €20 silver coin (5 oz) and also as a €20 gold coin (1/2 oz). Ah well, you could of course also buy the €100 Europa gold coin (5 oz) - only 99 pieces made, price only €6000 or so. :D

But these are just a tiny fraction of what the Monnaie de Paris issues this year. The numbers in the following list refer to the number of types (same design). Let's see ...

    Europa (4)
    Vauban (4)
    Brocéliande (2)
    Aristides de Sousa Mendes (2)
    Marquis de La Fayette (2)
    Stanislas Leszczynski (2)
    Pont Neuf (3)
    Int'l Polar Year: Paul-Emile Victor (3)
    Unesco series: Great Wall (2)
    Rugby World Cup (4)
    Beijing Olympics - Horseriding (2)
    Renault F1 Construction (2)
The Little Prince: three different designs, various issues
Hergé/Tintin: five different designs various issues
    Cannes Film Festival (3)
    Christian Dior (2)
    Edgar Degas (2) rectangular
    Georges Pompidou Center (2)
    La Fontaine/Lunar Calendar: Pig (2)

Sure, catalog editors like Krause or Schön will have to list them all. But it's not fun any more ...

By the way, the Monnaie de Paris charges an export (non-EU) price of €262.54 while Europassion (see my previous message) has an export price of €238.29 ... Have not checked their shipping terms/fees though.

Let's call it a pseudo - coin. IMHO no numismatic value.

Just read about another monster coin. :D British Virgin Islands, $1000 "Christopher Columbus" 2007. That is a 1 kg gold piece - mintage 50, diameter 10 cm. Oh, and each of those coins has its own serial number.

    Weird. Just weird.
