I will be the first to admit early coppers are like me sailing into uncharted waters. I need help to get the correct numbers on this coin. I have a 1840-1857 Grellman but must admit I'm lost. My first guess is that this coin is a small date. The 1 is almost dead centered to the point of bust, The curl is to the right of the 8 position. The 4 is almost dead center of the curl as well as 1/8 '' below the curl. The 6 is just about closed and the star 13 is just below the curl almost touching it. The 6 is also a repunched date. Please see images below. Thanks in advance for any help.
