The pics explain it all. When I saw this my jaw dropped it is so pretty. Sorry about bad pics. But this one is stunning. I bought it and the dealer eyes got kind of big and said "If you din't buy this, we would've had to change the price to $35"? I don't think it is that much, but still a good buy I would say for $4. It is a 1956 PR FS. Tell me what ya think! 1956 Proof nickel Obverse 1956 Proof nickel Reverse Phoenix
Thanks everyone! Sure. FS means Full steps, reffering to the steps on Monticello. That means you can count all the steps, and no marks, dings, or wear can be detected on them. Thanks everyone! Phoenix
Thanks Rickie, DJ, and coinlover. She is a beauty. I think I did well on her. She is put up safe in my collection. Phoenix
thats good that you have a safe. before i got my safe, i was worried that something was going to happen. now when i buy a coin, straight to the safe they go!
That is indeed a beauty, I've been looking at one for a couple weeks now, it's a match to that one... but i'll be nice.. you can have it On the mention of Full Steps, I think generally all proofs are considered FS because they are. The actual FS designation is pretty much reserved for MS coins. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=170076181595&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=007
Thanks everyone! No, that's okay, you can take it. Spent all my money, lol. But thanks though. That one is simply stunning, and the seller took great pics of it. Thanks though. Phoenix
Nice looking coin! The full steps designation, however, doesn't apply to proof coins. Proof coins are expected to have full steps, as they are stuck multiple times with the hammer die.
