A Couple of Comic Counterfeit Rupees

    I picked these up some time ago on as a novelty. Thew were listed as some sort of Indian Festival Rupees. Check out the edges. they appear they are layered. I also couldn't help but notice how much Queen Victoria looks like Popeye's girl friend Olive Oil, LOL... Not to mention that the dates are all wrong.

    Well, these are for tourists and not for collectors.

    And I don't think that these were manufactured to sell to collectors. Most of these are being manufactured to meet the local demand of these early rupees.

    Now as a collector, I also buy some of them and keep them in a black album which I call my "Black Museum".

    Very very poor counterfiets...I have seen even worse ones on sale in Tibet, with blundered legends, etc...
