Love those Sear certs! Don't get me wrong, Steve, I was the first to say I don't see anything wrong with your coin and still don't think anything's wrong with it... just curious to hear the opinion of others on what our friend Brass has said .
Incredibly fascinating 'issue', and I'm almost happier than Steve that a Sears Certificate was issued for that coin---it's almost hypnotizing...and especially by the incredible details of the face of the man-headed bull....I REALLY, REALLY WANT IT!!! Well on with the 'N's'.....or a new thread LOL.....
Are we ready for another letter??? Unfortunately, I'm just sitting here and enjoying the posts until we get to 'R' and 'S'

Hmm. I've been ready to unload my Olympia coins but I'm not sure if it is considered an actual "city" or not. Judges, can we get a ruling? Meanwhile, I'll take the risk. I love the posts so far!!! TIF, forgive my ignorance, but what is the significance/meaning of the F-A across the fields??
Ruled in favour of the coin owner! How else would we get to see these coins? Anyway, even if Olympia wasn't a proper city, these coins were struck in the temple sanctuaries at the site, weren't they?
From this informative article about coins of ancient Olympia, "The letters FA on the reverse of this stater mean 'faleion,' i.e. '(coin) of the Eleans.'"
A correction, TIF: Your second Olympia coin is listed as being from CNG 82, September 16, 2009. I actually found it in CNG 81, May 20, 2009, Lot 2225. http://www.cngcoins.com/Coin.aspx?CoinID=141244
