I got a bunch of new cents to post up but this one would be nice if it was a true double... The 5 is most noticeable... Regardless its a great coin to find in a bank roll
I see a line in the 5 which is probably what you mean. But I would assume a DDO would be throughout the whole date
Okay this cent is on ebay right now and is graded by PCGS.. I am trying to understand the difference because I see in my coin the same thing basically but at a different angle of rotation of the die. Can someone explain in newbie terms please? I have done a lot of research and get so much different information on the net. Thanks a lot for your responses and trust me I'll never stop swinging.
Well you're still whiffing because you're expecting there's a kindergarden explanation, and there's not. You need more batting practice. Get it by researching the difference between "strike doubling" and "die doubling."
whiffing!!!! hahahahaa Kindergarden!!!! I am a grown man. I stated how I felt and you replied with an immature response. Also I am new to this so yeah thanks for the advise and treating me like I am stupid. Also it would be nice if a moderator would let this guy know the rules here.
he was still being a what I like to call "tough behind the computer" kind of guy. but yeah research is knowledge..
Don't feel bad! You have to remember that a lot of folks have been enjoying and studying this hobby for years. Every other week at least a new person decides to try this hobby. When I first began a couple of years ago many coins I looked at had some PMD, Die Deterioration, Strike Doubling or other anomaly. I would be convinced it was a rare die error. Just look through my posts and you will see how often I was fooled.
It was a continuation of his previous post, where he said 'keep swinging', which was meant as encouragement. The second post was just continuing the metaphor. I can see how it could come across as demeaning, but I really don't think that was the intent. Keep looking for them and the advice about strike (or machine) doubling versus double dies is a good one: http://www.doubleddie.com/144822.html
