    OBV: IMP C DIOCLETIANVS P F AVG, laureate & cuirassed bust right.

    REV: GENIO POPV-LI ROMANI, Genius standing left, holding patera in extended right hand & cradling cornucopiae in left arm. No mintmark.

    REF: RIC VI Londinium 6A.

    Much improved. The scanner image is completely flat and the surface looks gritty. Your photograph definitely shows more visual information. The coin appears smooth with nice details.

    I honestly feel like I'm starting to improve with my coin shooting. Makes me feel good.

    Photography of ancient coins IMHO is essential and rewarding aspect of the hobby.

    It truly is doubly rewarding as soon as you ditch the scanner. lol

    But don't get me wrong, it did help me for awhile.

    Without a doubt, much better! That portrait is wonderful in your new image. Ho-hum in the scanner version.

    I used a scanner for years. My move to a camera has provided varied results and took me years to get to a stage where I has happy with my results.

    This new image is a great improvement. Well done.
