1864 Bew Brunswick One Cent

    Here is one you don't see every day. An 1864 New Brunswick one cent, look at the worksmanship in that wreath and crown.

    Ben,that is a very nice coin.There are 2 subtypes of this coin,both derived from the '6' in the date.I have got the Long Tip 6 one,which is what your coin is.The Short Tip 6 is slightly scarcer.

    The New Brunswick 1/2c. is a very scarce coin.The Nova Scotian 1/2c. coins are underrated.

    That's where Coins of Canada by J.A. Haxby & R.C. Willey helps.I had a copy of the 3rd edition,which I biffed,as it finally gave up the ghost late last year.The Charlton catalogue is also very handy.I haven't yet got that book though.
