You certainly have been busy lately. A lot coins posted in just the past few days. Did you win the lottery?

Nice coin. The coins from London are not only highly sought after, but I find them well cut in the first place. I do not have a Con I from London, but I do have a Crispus from there:
    Crispus 6.jpg
    CRISPUS
    AE Follis
OBVERSE: CRISPVS NOB CAES, laureate, cuirassed bust right
REVERSE: SOLI INVIC-TO COMITI, Sol standing left, chlamys across left shoulder, holding globe and raising right hand. Crescent in left field. Mintmark PLN. Toone 194; Bourton-on-the-Water hoard 1464-1466
    Struck at London 318 AD
    3.2, 21mm

I have purchased a lot of coins in the last two months and I've been really busy posting and shooting all these coins. I have a few more to post as well. Nice Londinium Crispus.

I like the Lugdunum mint just as much as the Londinium mint myself. Nice coins and thanks for posting.

I don't know. There are qualities from many of the mints that I like. Trier comes to mind as does Alexandria. Even though I have some nice coins from the Siscia mint, I think I like the designs from there the least.

    Terrific posts guys!!!

No mintmark equals London------I wasn't aware of that...although I must not have one or I would have noticed, at least on those non-junk drawer examples.

Londinium coins are in somewhat high demand for late Roman coins.

Most London minted coins ARE identified with a mintmark; just that Martins doesn't have one.

You've certainly acquired a nice set of coins lately, Gil. I haven't commented on every thread, but I like them all! I have only one coin from the London mint - I don't actually look for coins from specific mints, except perhaps Alexandria. But it is a rare reverse type for Constantine II...

    Constantine II
AE Reduced follis, 18mm, 3.1g, London mint: 318 AD.
Obv.: FL CL CONSTANTINVS IVN NC; Bust laureate, draped cuirassed, seen from back.
Rev.: PRINCIPIA I-VVENTVTIS; Prince in military dress, standing right, cloak spread, leaning on reversed vertical spear, hand resting on shield; crescent // PLN.
Reference: cf. RIC VII London 136. R4
Notes: The RIC coin has legend break PRINCIPIA IV-VENTVTIS.
