I just received some mint bags of these. I don't know if I should just sit on them in their original bags/boxes or open them up to to search them.
Depends on where they have been found. Have they been found in Mint bags, or rolls or in Loomis wrapped rolls?
I have 1965 - 1967 SMS bags still sealed from the Philadelphia mint. Grandmother was able to get me two bag of 100 each for all SMS years. One bag 1960 1964 Half dollars. Owning a bank was a easy way to get all them. Lincoln Wheat & memorial cents to many to list.
I would open them and you might be very pleased. I know I am. My first bag has yielded about a 50/50 mix of doubled dies and just B.U.s so far. And so far four different varieties of the window pane errors. If you end up as lucky as I have you can sell one bags worth and save the rest and still come out way ahead. Sitting on these too long may see the prices decline rapidly as more and more are found.
I once heard of a guy I was friends with found a double die homestead quarter 2015-D in literal MS condition and sold it for $4.00
