Hello everyone These two walkers are listed on eBay . I'm interested in buying a unc walking liberty so I'm wondering what you guys thinks as to grade of these coins and what's a fair price for a unc common date coin of this type.?
Its really hard to tell from the pictures, they may be sliders. Prices for a common walker slider are around $20, a UNC $25, Choice UNC maybe $35-$40
I agree. Are you looking at a raw coin or slabbed? With a little looking/patience you can find a nice slabbed PCGS,NGC MS63 for $30-$40.
I was thinking maybe I'd be better off just waiting till a deal on a nice slabed walker came along. Most of what I've been seeing is in the 25-35 dollar range on raw coins and 60 or better on slabed. You can usually get what your looking for way cheaper than the BIN price if you wait on a few auction. I've been adding a few to my watch list just to get an idea of what common date Ngc or pcgs walkers are selling for.
I'd wait , if the seller can't or won't give you good enough pics to tell , I'd pass or buy a slabbed one on ebay . Slabbed 63 and 64 Walkers come up fairly regulary especially the mre common '40s dates . I'm in the can't tell if it's MS or a slider .
This might help you: http://www.pcgs.com/Photograde/ Just pick the series and go from coin wear on the examples you desire.
Thanks I use photograde from time to time . It does get me in the ballpark as to grade . I just have a little tougher time on MS grades. As the photos I posted from an eBay listing aren't that great as are most eBay photos. It's really tough to tell MS this from MS that.
I really like the toning on that coin. What's the reverse look like Tom ? I'd say a coin like that's out of my price range . Really nice though thanks for posting it . I'm more or less hoping to catch an eBay auction in the next week or so and just get something common in the ms63-64 range . Just curious what would a coin like that 1916 sell for Tom??
I will send a PM with the other information since I do not want to tread too closely to what might be considered spam as this was meant as just a light-hearted image share on my part.
