That's the kind of story you tell around a camp fire!! Mine are due to arrive today. I'm thinking I did the smart thing and pre-sold 4 of them at $95.00 each. Now the 5th is sitting in my collection for free. Worst case is they become melt and I'll still be ahead.
Currently unavailable (aka Sold Out): http://catalog.usmint.gov/2015-marc...&_ga=1.49097126.1842528881.1431456945&start=1 Good luck on eBay. Some sets are still reasonably priced in auction. TC
That process of prices spiralling up out of control actually happens on Amazon because of the interaction of certain pricing bots.
Exactly, get in there and sell them while they're hot. They're being played up on the PCGS and NGC forums, too, I haven't checked Coin Community. Sell them now while the commodities brokers sorry if that's too real for anybody who are flipping these are giving them the old hype-up, take advantage of it. In the meantime, I'll just give a prediction, this is going to end up being the biggest blunder since Custer said, "Look, over the hill, I think they're friendly Indians." Do you know why? Anybody with any brains knows these are ringers, that's why. And those who don't and think they're essential to sets deserve being taken advantage of, if anybody does.
The thread is pointless because we have bias sellers vs non-bias forum users. The biased sellers believe the market is X and they are going to believe that no matter what. Trust me, 2011 ASE 25th Anny, I bought around 30-35 sets. I sent in a few boxes (5 sets each) directly into PCGS for grading. I was one of the first so I got premium pricing for it. I didn't feel like risking sending in any more so I just sold them as sealed boxes and unloaded the vast majority of them within the first month I had them. Collectors were salivating for them, but as you might know, significant drop off now. Paid $1500 per 5, sold brown box no grading for $4.3k. Easily the best investment I have made in coins and I still got to keep 5-6 sets as a prize.
Or one seller thinks "all these other guys are asking $500; I'll ask $475, still a nice profit, and sell mine quickly before the market tanks." Another seller thinks "I can still make money at $450." And the vicious return to reality accelerates...
