The new bidder information concealment program did what it was supposed to - almost totally blocked any attempt to determine how legitimate the bidders are. We do know that one is brand new, and the other has only bid in one other coin-related auction. My guess is the sister and brother-in-law of the seller.
Its just a blank planchet. There will be countless more that will be indistinguishable from the one listed in that auction.
The thing is---is this a blank planchet for the Sac. dollar or for the President dollars?....error dealers such as Fred W. have pulled all of their Sac. Dollar blanks because they didn't want people to buy a Sac. planchet and try to pass it off as a President Dollar Planchet. Both coins are on the same planchet....therefor the ONLY way to tell them apart is the Edge Lettering. If the planchet doesn't have the lettering then you really don't know what it is. A Sac. planchet sells for around $75-$100....the President Dollar "Planchets" have been selling for alot more....as you can see. Speedy
Don't forget - this one had a zero feedback seller's personal assurance that he himself had pulled it from a roll of DeadPrez dollars. That alone is certainly worth the difference in price, isn't it?
I'm guessing all the bids are fake. Even if that is a presidential dollar planchet, it not worth any where near $500,200. That is just plain ridiculous IMO.
"I have the rest of the dollars which this puppy was rolled up with. This is no joke." Just his description marks him as shady. Look at the bid history. Bidder #2 retracted because they put $5,000,100.00, when what they meant to put was the perfectly reasonable $501,000.00. I guess when you have money to burn (or when there is no intent of burning said money) you just submit away without paying much attention. How embarrassing for his wife.
The Funny Thing The funny thing about this is...... THE EBAY COMMISION!!! Wow... I would hate to be this guy... on a $500,000 sale the ebay commision will be through the roof and he will be going to collections for this little prank!!! hahaha... sorry that just struck me as very funny, I know Ebay charges a percentage so whats that ebay fee gonna be?? a couple grand or more??
Wow, it is neat to see, but I'd don't think I would pay $500 K for it. Better things and coins I would spend my money on (if I had that kind of money lol)Hey Roy, did you try your pole on this one? Mine's broken, lol. Phoenix
