100 Bust Half Die-Marriages...

Jeez, what a wingnut. I forgot to tell this fine group of people that as of yesterday I FINALLY achieved the minimum requirement for acceptance into the Bust Half Nut Club (BHNC). Not just 100 coins, but 100 different die-marriages. The next step is to have my collection verified by a BHNC member down in Denver (a 7 or 8 hour drive, he's the closest member for me, alas...) later this Spring or Summer.

Then, if all the members say "yea" I'll be in. If "nea", it's not the end of the world, for I'm a collector first and have enjoyed the ride, the club was just a bonus.

That is an incredible achievement! I'd be really interested to hear more about it. How long have you been trying to reach this goal? How many Bust Halves do you have total?!

I've been working aggressively on it for only 3-4 years. It wasn''t that difficult after I liquidated some of my early Baseball Cards. Cash is the big factor when it comes to increasing your holdings. 109 halves in total. :)

A monumental achievement and I hope you upgrade and keep getting more of those die marriages coming.

Not sure I'd have the patience (or dedication) to examine that many coins that closely.

Yours are the most interesting coins I see on this site.

Better than the club, you seem to have great fun collecting them and it shows.

A fellow coin club memeber is also a member of "Nut club". He gave a presentation last year on those varities and bought his entire collection of bust halves for club members to view. He mentioned that his collection is missing only few to complete his collection identified by Overton.
