What die gouge? All I see is one of the common clashes. That is the "cap vee" from the obverse. Chris

I agree. I actually love Morgan's with nice die cracks. I also have an 1887 Morgan with pretty good die clashing. It's not attributed because none of the letters are clashed and visible. But you can make out the eye and slope of Liberty's nose and neck line as well as the cap vee on the reverse and some of the wreath on the obverse. I really like it.
Check your date for doubling at the 1 and 8. I found that on my 84cc. I think it's VAM-2? It's the only 84 VAM listed under Numismedia price guide. Don't know if that equates to real value. But it is neat.
