The other day I got change back a couple times and at the end of the day I had a total of 6 WV state quarters. Now this has been happening for some time and I was wondering which state quarter do you get most often?

I would say I tend to recieve the previous year's quarters most often. So this year I've been getting the 2006 quarters, last year I got the 2005's, etc.

I seem to notice I get more New Jersey and Delaware quarters than some of the others. I wish I would get more of last years quarters in my change. For that matter, I just wish I would get more Denver mint quarters from any year.

    Good Luck

Most common I see in circulation always seems to be what was most recently released. Anything older than that is about a tie with anything else. Don't see a lot of Delaware quarters though... I think the novelty of them being the first in the new series caused them to get pulled out of circulation more.

To be honest, I've never bothered to look.

I have been getting a lot of Montana quarters lately. I'm surprised at how many, actually, compared to other state quarters when they've been new.

With respect to West Virginia, it was quite a while and we wound up getting ours at a New York State Thruway tollbooth in Buffalo. In fact, that toll plaza was the source of the five of the last six new state quarters prior to Montana's arrival much closer to home.

I seldom look to see what state they are but I think someone flooded the market with 1999 and 2000 Quarters. That is what I find mostly.

Same here, though I'm guessing that approximately 45% of the quarters I get are state quarters.

I'll look though my change at night and when I'm searching rolls of quarters, I'll find a few South Carolinas. Or when we need to make trips to the laundromat when the washer breaks down, and I find quite a few South Carolinas. One time I got a full roll of south carolinas I'm pretty sure, but no silver, lol.

You know it's funny. I was sorting through my spare state quarters today and found that I have 11 WV's and the next closest is Alabama at 6. I don't know if it is because we are so close to West Virginia or what.?.
