You may have a point based on the 1950 & 1951 dimes, yet they do sell for significantly more than the cost of these dimes, so they appear to be a good investment. Then this set may be much more desirable than the dimes you mentioned and may have a positive affect on all Roosies.
Well the 1996 W non-silver non-proof had a mintage of 1,457,000 and in MS 68 is selling for around $100.00. I'll be more than happy to see how these pan out in the next few years.
$1260 per coin. So I spent a total of $2520 and walked away with $5800. So a profit of $3280. I like to think of myself as a respectable homeless man those 2 nights. I didn't urinate in the bushes once or liter! Yay, me!
I just saw that someone just bought two of these sets from a seller a half hour ago for $179.95 each..
I can remember someone posting guys in bright green T-shirts as little minions for the bigger gold half buyers. made me laugh. you laughed all the way to the bank. I will want a reverse dime in MS-69-70 PCGS. I am just wondering how long until the prices cools off and then buy it or buy it now ? ok off to work now. I will check for answers when i get home late tonight. ciao...
The Rosie is a dog of a coin to collect. No one collects dimes, but one thing you have to remember about these newer post-recession collectors - a fool and his money is soon parted. They will buy any shiny coin in a slab and don't care how much it costs. There is a big wheel barrow full of money pulling into the station and it yours for the taking. Go gettem and ride this wave before it crashes and you can't unload these for cost.
Within three generations, the membership here will have been almost totally replaced by new members. By then, the YN's will probably have no knowledge at all of these dimes. If you think I'm wrong, just go back and read all of the threads about "silver" Lincoln cents. Chris
Or, they might think your sunglasses were too dark. Horse blinders went out in the early part of the 20th century. Chris
We're talking about coins that actually exist. Serious collectors will read the Red Book and know these dimes exist.
The 1943 Lincoln cent does exist! How many threads have been posted about silver Lincolns from other years? How many new collectors don't even know about the Red Book? The OP didn't say anything about serious collectors. Chris
