Not directed at you. More of an educational don't buy china copy's. I know a few people that have picked up various things just to see what they are made of and that still adds to spending money on fakes/copy's that will probably be a problem for someone later.
That's not a Morgan at all! Check out that heavy date! (that's OK - even big girls get to go out sometimes)
Johnson Matthey would like to hear about this. They went through some trying times when these copies first came out. I remember having reported some to them quite some time ago.
The laser serial number is a definite giveaway as JM stamps their bars, BUT not everyone knows that... Genuine Johnson Matthey bars have stamped serial numbers on the front of the bar.
Same here, I asked this guy why he bought something he knew was fake or a copy originating from China? He was just curious about it and it being cheap, well seems to be the main attraction. I've bought 2 pieces over the years. One was a 1933 St. Gaudens ( a tribute piece made in the USA) gold plated over copper I assume and marked copy from some company. The other was an old fake of a Gold 50 Peso. The seller was in the USA and said it just wasn't right as the weight was way off. This one I was curious about It turned out to be a wax casting of a 50 Peso, made of aluminum (I assume) and gold electro plated.
Except it does state "raplica". Now we just have to figure out if this is the YouTube guy or a bad Chinese student of the English Language. Let me guess.....
