Here we have the largest obverse die gouge in the entire series! Vam 19 ripped bonnet. Hitlist40 top30 1878s variety...
Guess the grade CAM02560.jpg 2015-04-30-16-58-39.jpg similiar to the `21s thornhead series CAM02546.jpg CAM02552.jpg
I know its a lil tricky because of the toning, thats what makes it fun. Thanks for playing

Hey Heavy question now it's been a long day and my eyes are ready for bed, but is there anything going on around the date? From the coloration and tired eyes I can't tell for sure. Thanks

Paddy, i dont think so but ill double check again. Is it IN the digits you are referring to? This coin had some sort of a planchet issue or its a greaser
Edit: i can see in the image what u are referring to I believe.... it appears to back my theory of.this coin being either a strike-thru/planchet issue/lamination of sorts! Big reveal tommorow!

These tend to come nice. I can't really make out the extent of any hits on the cheek, so I'll just guess 64.

You do realize that is supposedly a water shortage? People are only supposed to take 5 minute showers or less!
