Was a bit excited to bid and win this one... You will notice that both obverse and reverse have a bit of unusual "details"... and NOT a known/listed error or variety at coneca...
Watcha think... (no poll as I want to hear what you see in these pics)
Even if the pics turn out to just be "bad" pics, I won her for a great price (under 1/2 list) so I am very happy to add her to my set :D
    ngc pics added...

Not sure but it could be a 55/55 DDO. The entire date looks doubled with the nine filled or die strike error. I very much like this coin, you did well. Thanks for sharing. At this point I have no guess as to grade, but I believe it would be high!

I looked at the sellers pics a looonnngg time and the NGC pics as well seem to show it but at different lighting/angle but less pronounced.. it was the partially filled 9 that makes me think it's more then just ghosting.. if it turns out as a bust as an error, it still very nicely fills a slot in my ms wheat set :D I'll add again I found no listing for this possible error on coneca, but they add new ones weekly still lol

DDO 001 variety vista and coneca markers are correct the die chip in the date is just that a chip. The die scratch behind the head nails it.

didn't see it at coneca.. should have checked VV as well.. TY Paddy :D
and now having looked at both site I see I should have looked at the later stages of ddo-1 but the 1st 2 stages didn't show the most glareing dbling.. and even stage 4 seems less pronounced but that's where it 1st shows the die scratch behind the head lol... Then again I usualy lazy until it's in hand lol

Here comes a bit of fun... e-mailed NGC asking if this can be added to their varietyplus as it has full listings at VV and Coneca... probably a negative but can't hurt to ask and would be cool to have the 1st one certified by one of the big boys (sowwy anacs and icg I know you both would cert it)

I wouldn't say 66, because I generally refuse to give out grades above 65. So, I call it MS65 RD.

    It looks very nice.

Best wishes for you, but it seems to be a die problem ( Die deterioration doubling) from what I can see. Larger photo might help. MS64-65. Good Luck. Jim

I'm not completely sure what you were referring to, but other than the die chip and the photos showing sort of mushy lettering, I don't see anything unusual.
I have a full roll of uncirculated 1955 S cents and have found numerous chips on the reverse, and BIE on a couple, but none that look like yours.

Paddy Nailed it down :D it is without any doubt the DDO-001. It has all the indicators shown at coneca... but at this time icg and anacs the only tpg's that will label it as such. I have made a request about it to NGC but have yet to hear back :D

and a bit early (20hr mark) but here you go. At under half ngc list and 1/3rd pcgs list I'm a happy camper, even if NGC won't label the error/variety :D :D :D
Only 15 higher grade and 13 of those are 67+ or * only 2 68s, one ngc one pcgs :D

I don't think the MM matches. It is darn close but yours is slightly lower and further to the right IMO. I don't see the doubled eye.
The die scratch on the reverse from the A to stem is not visible. The die crack to rim does not seem to be in the correct position.
Also the die chip in the 9 would put this in a later die stage and the surfaces strike do not say that they are.
I am with @desertgem and @Mountain Man on this. It is die deterioration.
By the way beautiful coin. I would be happy to have it in my collection.

How could it be a 67 with that many obvious nicks? I must be getting old.
