What's best to coin roll hunt through?

The bank I take them to weighs the roll.

To me, that is just a con to make you believe in the accuracy of their scale. How much of a difference is there between a US cent and a Canadian cent? Do they weigh each roll separately? What if you bring a whole box?

Those look hardly circulated.

 

The ones I pulled out had a few bag marks here and there, they seemed to have full lustre though. I will be checking them for rpm and ddr.

I don't think I have enough luck coin roll hunting, but if I see one wrapped unusually I'll get it.

 

depends what exactly you are looking for. I have found as many as 5 silver quarters in a $1000 bag from the credit union. and I still find silver in rolls. I go through 8 boxes a week. quarters are best because they have the silver in them and a whole mess load of errors. that's just my opinion

 

some banks charge 9-10%. but you can open a $5 account and dump for free. now let me let everyone on in a little secret. at TD bank they have a magnet inside where you dump. anything foreign gets picked up the magnet and they send it out (they wouldn't say where) and that money goes towards buying and maintaining the machines.

Yeah costumer rolls. If your talking to me pickin and grinin then I don't really know how I started collecting, but I know I started with wheat pennies when I was about 4 and now I'm 13 and Wells Fargo is easy walking distance from my house. I go back and forth getting boxes of nickels and pennies. Also I have a lot of silver. In fact I was counting my silver to see how many oz I have. I have 25 and a half oz right now, I should check the price of silver and find out how much I have. I have about half my money invested in it so I'm counting on it to go up. Thanks DD

 

Razorblaydesjr are you thinking you will not have any luck looking through anything elts because trust me I thought the same thing until I got s box of nickels and found 2 buffalos and a war nickel. Also if you did not find anything you still did not loose money. Also you should alway end up with foreign coins which are kind of cool. This website inspired me to look through nickels.

 

Thats a great start. My son who is gonna be eight has started collecting.

Wow, I don't know what will happens to my threads and my posts after I delete my account. I was 13 when I made these posts, and I'm just about to turn 20. Coins are still neat to me, but I'm working and starting a family now.
