    Online they said they stopped minting these. The 5 Cent Euro (Ireland) is the smallest denomination coin now. These were probably part of someone's collection that got thrown into circulation by someone that didn't know any better. So many people are desperate for money these days that when they inherit a coin collection, they just take it to the bank. I guess that is good for searchers. Gives us some more hope of finding something from a circulation that is basically picked clean.

    Nice finds!!I like looking for the small denomination coins while I’m over in Europe. It’s like Lincoln cents here. People don’t deal with them and nobody uses them anymore. If I ever see them, I snatch them up. I really like to find the pfennigs from Germany!
