anyone know about these i find them every so often. but not sure about veriaties or anything else thought someone might want to take a look before they get lost or spent.
RCM (Royal Canadian Mint) logo (introduced in 2006) below the Susanna Blunt designed portrait of QEII (in use since 2003 I think); can't say much else without seeing the reverses.
Their has been a few die variety found but this date? I am not sure here a link that can show them. http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php
Reverse... No problem. Note - the order of the coin has changed a bit from the first picture so the years are in order!
The only modern Canadian quarter I'm aware of that's worth holding onto is the 1991 because it's low mintage.
There are actually several different reverse designs that were used for circulation quarters that have that obverse design. That doesn't count reverses that were designed only for sets and not for circulation. (I should let Stevex6 answer this, I think he has them all!) At any rate, the Caribou design on the reverse with the RCM logo on the obverse is the most common designs for those dates Jral. The website that jello posted lists off the reverse designs & varieties. If you find a 2009 men's hockey, colored with a raised 2, you may want to keep, the mintage estimate on that one is 200,000.
Hello... I received a 2010 Canadian Quarter from a collection. Was there silver Canadian quarters made in 2010? It looks very shiny like a proof coin and there is no copper coloring along the reeded edge like our clad quarters have, do Canadian clad quarters not have the same reeded edge color as US clad quarters? If you need a picture I can take one, but I'm not very good at taking pictures of coins for some reason. Thank You...
The RCM made not silver quarters in 2010. However, since about 2000, the RCM has issued quarters in multi-ply steel plate, which does not have an edge exposed sandwich core like US clad coinage. Therefore, you should see no copper along the edge.
