    Three points:

    1) Totally agree on the fingernail. Ouch!

    2) We are going to need to see the other side of the coin.

    3) We are going to need to hear the story behind the bucket and the coin.

    :)

  6. I think I have uploaded the other side picture, I bought a car several years back 20 years, all the nuts and bolts to the car came in the pale, I just recently empty the bucket out and in the grease at the bottom of the bucket I found the coin, the car is a 1929 Chevrolet sedan. thanks for your interest

Let's put it this way...........I don't know if the coin is real, but I sure hope you don't kick the bucket.

  8. well my wife won't let me touch the bucket now, so you don't have to worry about me kicking it or at least just yet. the bucket looks like it's a hammered copper pail. could anyone give me a hint of how to get the coin authenticated real or not?

It's not a coin; it is a thoroughly modern replica.

  10. any more clues than just that?

  11. not to be rude or anything, as a mechanic when other mechanics ask me for some help I give it willingly, I'm a labor and I have some interest in with her not this coin is real or am I just wasting your time?

I don't think you are wasting anyone's time, but I also don't think it is a genuine piece. These were made by the many thousands in the mid-20th century to sell at museums and historical sites and this appears to be one of those copies.

From my antique-shop days, the pail looks like a soap-making bucket, especially if it's brass or copper. DO NOT clean, polish, or buff it, look for a name or monogram impressed into the bottom. Is it magnetic?

The coin? Clearly a modern copy.

  14. I appreciate your time, and do you know anywhere I can find more about this coin?

I wish I could give you a definite answer these are out of my wheelhouse . However as a member here I will apologize as some here think they are comedians . With over 40,000 comedians out of work you can see what they are doing with all their down time.
You came here seeking advice and got from what I'm reading a bunch of smart edited REMARKS!
I hope another member whom is experienced and not the class clown can give you a straight answer .
