I got this on eBay for $1.04 + shipping. It was labeled as DDO #8, but the images were bad and taken through a cardboard flip. The doubling matches perfectly, but I can't find any definite markers. Due to the flow lines, I assume it is a later die state. I wonder if it could be in a later MDS or earlier LDS? The 2 die dots @ FG, as shown on coppercoins LDS, are not there. I mean NO sign. Also, Wexler shows a tiny gouge inside the bottom of the E in CENT. It's so tiny in Wexler's images, I'm not sure if it's there, on my coin, or if my eyes are tricking me. The only marker I'm confident in is the remnants of the gouge at the top of the first T in TRUST. There is absolutely zero evidence of the gouge above the E in UNITED. All this aside, I am moderately confident it is die 8. The doubling doesn't match dies 1, 3, 6, or any other CW spreads. i would love to know what you folks think.
I couldn't believe it either, but the doubling was very hard to see in the listing. You kinda had to take the seller's word. Here is the original listing: http://m.ebay.com/itm/121619715586?txnId=0
For $1.04 I'd say that's worth the risk. That would be the score of the year for me. Again, awesome eye.
