1965 p quarter help…other details?

Hi everyone,
Was looking at this 1965 p quarter and for the life of me I can’t figure out what these details are. Is it a V an I?
There’s even a triangle shape before the date. A tail on the 9 …
Extra stamped numbers?
What do you think?

side note… it’s to bad it’s a circulated coin or we would be able to see a lot more.. even after the 5 in the date there’s more features…

 

I believe it's a well worn coin from circulation. It has many hits and scratches. I don't feel it is an error coin.

Maybe a clash mark?

 

I don't think there's nothing on the Reverse side to cause a clash like that on that part of the Obverse..

I like that die clash on that quarter

it looks like a “V” in between the 6&5

if its not a clash marks on the quarter then what could it be? there’s definitely raised areas.. you can see even on the 5

 

I see what you're talking about... Even myself would trend toward it being circulated.

The trick is to find another one.

 

I think you need to put down your microscope before you have a complete nervous breakdown. There's nothing here worth noting in this coin. You're grossly magnifying everyday imperfections common to all coins, everywhere, and we see this a real lot, here.

All I see now are the Cupro-Nickel atoms.

This is a normal circulating quarter. Very common and since this is not in fantastic shape, worth only 25 cents.

The photo overload is a little much.. Especially with the magnification. If you can't see it with 5x magnification, then it isn't worth investigating with 150x magnification.

Could it be a dropped letter? Sure seems to match the size and style of the A in AMERICA. Just a thought.

 

I was thinking it might be a possibility @Mountain Man , but there is a serif on that particular 'letter'. I did a little digging and found this snippet to be interesting. A reach, but perhaps the tool came in contact with another leaving a light impression of a device (with a serif). Something else seems to be hiding behind the 5. If nothing else, it could be a sample that BJ might like to see and comment on.

Mule Die Clashes : Mad Die Clashes

 

Tilted die clashes do happen. And can happen with rotated dies. I really haven't taken much of a look at this coin because it is so circulated that you can't make any definite decision.
I am in the circulation camp.

When I try to identify a coin. There is always one marker that seems to jump out. If you can't find another marker that confirms your first marker, then you are usually seeing some type of die deterioration issue. Maybe just circulation, maybe it's damage. Could be a bag mark. Once a coin leaves MS the chance of identifying the cause becomes more and more difficult.
