To comply with the 1/3 law toital Sac dollar production should be just over 600,000,000.

    2007 sac dollar mintage

    i think sac dollar total mintage for 2007 is 400,000,000 pc. 200,000,000 each for (p) & (d).

The mintage is not completed for 2007. The mint is required by law to produce one Sac dollar for every two president dollar minted.

    sac dollar

600,000,000 sac dollar a year. maybe that is only for the first year. then it will diminish to very very few in the coming years. so far, i don't see people using them widely.

Unless Congress changes the law the sac mintage figures will be determined by the number of president coins minted each year. 1 sac for every 2 Prez.

from what i read the ratio is 3:1, maenign 3 prez for each Sac....

The law calls for Sacs to make up one third of the mintage of dollars. People see that 1/3 and they have been reading it as 1 sac for every three presidents. But that would cause the Sacs to be a quarter of the mintage. The correct ratio is one sac for every two presidents.

true .. either way .. the whole recipe spells a TON of dollar coins for 2006 :(

Actually 2006 mintage should be low for the Sac. 2007 and beyond will be huge but I wonder if we will ever see them.

As of May 1st...Washington dollar340 million
    Adams dollar 221 million
    2007 Sackies 7 1/2 million.

The mint had better get moving if they are going to get to the 1/3 mandate.

I read that Sac dollars mintage is tied to the mintage of pres dollars?

Anyway, expect some keys in the pres dollar series (not the Washington though), wait till it cools down like in 2010 and everyone forgets about it, some pres like Millard Filmore will be a key.

    sac vs: prez

i still think sac dollar will still be better than prez dollars. because prez dollar series will be much more popular than sac dollar. try to get 2001 to 2006 sac dollars.

2001-2006 sac dollars?... heck, arent they STILL for sale at the mint?? they do seem to like selling products WAAAAAAAY past their end date :(

    sac dollars

no. they are not for sell right now. you must be confused with the kennedy half. kennedy half still selling the 2001 and 2007 only.

no, not confused ... i just figured they WOULD still be for sale.. thats just the pattern the mint has decided to follow these days. They arent happy enough with all the money collectors shell out, they need to leave items up for sale another 2 or 3 years longer ...

The 2002 - 2006 Sacs are no longer available because they were a "Make to order" item. They took orders during those years and only struck enough to fill the orders placed. But with the 2007 Sacs they are having to strike hundreds of millions more than they need for collectors orders. And unless the law is changed they will be making well more than the collector demand for them from now on.

So the 2002-2006 coins will be the low mintage years, but there will still be plenty of them to satify demand (Except among Registry addicts.)
