Hey everyone -- I recently inherited a small (roughly 30) collection of coins from my uncle when he passed away. I know very littler, if anything, about coins and was hoping some people here could shed some light on what the coins were and if they hold any value. The majority of the coins are Swiss and Iraqi (my uncle was a Swiss guy who had a construction business in Iraq during the early 70s) they're gold and silver. I tried the best I could to put the coin descriptions into a Excel file, but I can't seem to upload that here, so i've made a Photobucket album of images to help. Any help in identify the coin and value of the coin would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for any and all help! http://s1216.photobucket.com/user/adrianlischer/library/
It may be just my eyes but I can't really see enough detail for any useful comment, except to say that the silver looks to be mainly cupro nickel and the Swiss item with the aircraft is gold plated copper. I can't find the Iraqi 500 dinar coin, Isuppose that may be a special edition in gold. Someone would know.
I'll try and get higher res images! The Swiss ones came with a letter of authenticity claiming 9.999 gold 32g, not sure if that's helpful. Thanks for the reply!
Hi. ok I am looking up some of your coins in my Krause catalog. the 1 in the light green holder is...a Iraq proof coin 1980 Dinar, KM#149 metal-nickel worth $40.00
the coin that has 15th C.H. is Iraq KM#148 Dinar, metal- .900 silver mintage 25,000 worth $60.00 nice coin.
the 3rd Switzerland coin from just the reverse picture is KM#48 1948 5 francs, .835 silver worth $20.00-25.00
the 4th Switzerland coin is KM#44 1941 5 francs, mintage-100,150 .835 silver worth $30.00-50.00 nice coin.
if you do a close up of each of the Iraq coin from the large coin group picture I can tell you what they are and their values.
these 2 coins I like a lot: is this top 1 silver or gold ? on Ebay this coin goes for way more money and this medal is a mystery to me but I like it... I found 1 like yours on Ebay...link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BRONZE-ART-...992?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58b3726e10 I am not sure what grade/condition your medal is in ? at least we know the airtists name is Daniel Dupuis and that it is an art nouveau medal made of bronze.
WOW! Thank you so much for your help! This was more than I expected! I'll take a close up picture of each the coins from the large coin group! Thanks again! EDIT: Attached is a close up of the large coin group! Let me know if these is detailed enough! Thanks again http://s1216.photobucket.com/user/adrianlischer/library/Coins Close Up
The 32 gram Swiss item is described as 'Material Cu vergeldet' which is copper gilt. The issue (auflage) is 9,999. The normal continental European usage is a comma for a decimal point and a point for a comma to divide zeros in large numbers. No gold, minimal value. The 500 dinar coin (egg dot dot in arabic) is the only mystery one that might be gold.

my advice to you is... the coins that are in plastic holders.... keep them in those to protect them from getting damaged/scratched. some of these coins go for much more money on Ebay depending on grade.
