    Very very nice!!!

This is the kind of counterstamped coins I like and collect!

I recall that the Wisconsin Coin Club also issued similarly counterstamped coins...

I think it's a dealer's guess as Luke didn't get F-16s until 1982. The man I purchased it from bought it in the late 80s to early 90s. So why use tokens on a base in the 50s - 80s in the U.S.? There was no coin shortage. I forget now but I think it was by 1955 or 65 slot machines were outlawed on stateside bases. I don't understand what value there was in making them.

You may be thinking of this one, Oded. The Nicolet CC in Green Bay, WI issued this one in 1965. It's overstruck on a 1921 Morgan Silver Dollar. You can still some detail of the original coin, especially on the obverse.

Yes, I've seen this one, and there are quite a few others that have been done in more recent days.

Thanks, Oded. Do you know where I might pick examples of the newer pieces for my collection?

I believe I saw and actually bought some at an ANA show a few years ago.

I need to dig out what I have, somewhere in my office... :)

Nope, dead serious. I work at the Capitol. Now I'm in Lancaster, so I have a better excuse.

That's interesting as we drove up the TP one of the state senators in a big black caddy past us like we were going backwards. I have the low plate number was going to call the State Police but I figured it would be waste of time.

Nice group of tokens, Jack. I think I have an Indian Springs piece somewhere in my collection of miscellaneous tokens. It could be a different denomination than yours, but I'll have to check it out.

Thanks Bruce! How about that 90 cent token from Dobbins? I've never seen that before.

Yeah, that's an odd denomination, Jack. They must have had ninety cent specials or something. Do you know the approximate date of the token?

BTW, I checked my Indian Springs token. It's a five cent denomination. They must have had a whole range of values up to a dollar or even higher. Is the series listed in Cunningham?

This "STIBBS" counterstrike fell into my hands a couple days ago. A search of the forum for that name returned zero results. Anybody got an idea? Thanks...wlw P1140329.JPG P1140332.JPG
