You know how some coin shops have a junk silver bin, and some even have a "worse-than-junk" junk bin? Picked this up for melt today out of that WTJB... The last digit doesn't look anything like the angled 7 of a 1917 or 1927, or the angled 9 of a 1919 or 1929...meaning it has to be a 1, and thus a 1921. I'm thinking it's a G4...do you agree?
You can tell the first and last digit are the same, so a 1. You can also see the flatness of the 3rd digit, so a 2. Nice score.
Pretty sure it's a 1921 too. Congrats on the score for melt! Someone will need it as a filler for sure....
Not a 'super amazing' find, but certainly a 'super' find for sure. That is not even close, imo, to WTJ. Good for you! Actually, that is quite a 'strong' date for the coin's overall grade. The date is often gone by the time Typ-2s get to Fine.
Ha ha...maybe it's been a while since the last really good score. A pick like this certainly helps pay for gas
Great I got a 1921 the same way a number of years ago. Now in an ANACS G-4 slab, and I paid a $1 for it.
I miss finding interesting coins in the junk bin. My LCS has had nothing but common date Morgans and Peace dollars for months. I may have to venture farther out.
I wish my LCS had a junk bin. They have a foreign dollar bin that I have picked clean and now it's just proof Bahamas junk.
