Can somebody help me identify this coin ? Is not mine, so it's the only picture I have (I know is not the best) What I can read: PECTEN PFENNING [Sun, Moon and starts] MIH [Ship and shield(?)] Size: 18 mm.
That is a Rechenpfennig, ie. a token used for calculations, apparently issued by Habelt. The "Plus Ultra" and the ship seem to be a reference to Spanish coinage, but I don't know if there is any particular coin from Spain that could have been the model for this piece. Here is an (ended) auction with a larger image of a piece like "yours": http://cgi.ebay.de/Rechenpfennig-MIH-J-J-Habelt-19-Jh-/200609707282 (scroll down and click on Vergrößern/Enlarge). Christian
This is a copy of Nuremberg jetons/rechenpfennige made in Vienna, Austria. Reported at page 11 in "Wiener Rechenpfennige und Spielmünzen im 18. und 19, Jahrhundert" by Franz Würschinger (1943). It is not sure who MIH is..... http://rechenpfennig.webs.com/
