Curious about grade...(common coin)

I'm just psyched I found this...I know it's not particularly special or rare and I probably paid a bit too much but there is a point when you realize you partake in a hobby for fun as well. I hail from the world of bullion stacking so I am still new to numismatics- this is my first coin bought solely for that purpose alone. I am very pleased with it, even though I am certain more seasoned folks have seen this a thousand times over. :)

I think it would be cool to get this graded and slabbed but honestly from what I've been reading it might not be worth it.

What do you guys think, grade wise? Thanks!

Its one of the most common types for the V nickel, 1883 "without cents" reverse. Reverse also has some rim damage. So no, not worth sending in for grading.

Thank you for your feedback. Wow, my camera really makes that damage stand out! It looks almost totally different in person. Thank you though.

TabbyCat, I don't know if you've read much about the "no cents" nickel, but story is that they were gold plated and passed to recent immigrants for a $5 gold coin until "cents" was added to the coin. Most of us have heard this for a long time, and you do, occasionally come across plated ones, but legend or not....?

I kinda came across that tidbit only a few scant hours ago (when I was doing a little bit of reading), but I only knew that it was about just general forgery, I did not know that it was specific to people trying to fool recent immigrants. VERY interesting ! Thanks!!!
