I purchased this MS65 1906-D in the mid 90's and I'm too embarrassed to say what i paid for the coin. I also purchased an MS64 on the same day.. :shame::muted: DSCN4026.JPG DSCN4032.JPG

    Electric word life
It means forever and that's a mighty long time
But I'm here to tell you
    There's something else
    The after world

A world of never ending happiness
You can always see the sun, day or night

Enjoy the coin. Money comes and goes.

The coins others would technically considered me "buried" in are some of my best ones. I paid the premium because I wanted them in my collection. I'm sure the under wished he placed that one extra bid....lol.

I'll have to think on that, I'm sure I have a few. I think this one is down 25% from what I paid

I've got some varieties that I'm a little buried in since that market is fairly volatile given the fact that its moderns and the next higher grade trumps the undergrades.

Well, since you posted that one, it reminded me of this one:

    IKE 1972 T2 Sintered 05930354 PCGS MS65 Slab Obv.jpg

I'm into this one for $3500 which was price guide when I bought it. Today that same guide sits at $1800

I won this one at $920 at Heritage which isn't bad , but I bought a 64 for $750 when the 65s were going at $1,400 . The 64 is almost as nice as this one so I might see if it will upgrade which I think has a 40-50% chance .But this one I'll keep as it's mt Dads birth year and I'd like it to stay in the family .

But you can't beat the enjoyment we get or the friends we make , and unlike stocks our coins will always be worth something . Just not as much sometimes . ;)

This one I way overpaid for ... because I liked the toning (and I was too inexperienced with toned coins to know what I was doing). I still think it's cool/interesting looking -- it just looks old and antique-y; and has sort of a rustic charm.

I am too embarrassed to say how much I paid for this. Let's just say too much.

I'm buried in this, but I knew at the time of purchase that I was going to be buried in it. I'm still happy with it.

Dang I would have to post my whole collection. :) Some of this just the market when you buy.

Picture a stack of ASEs and a much shorter stack of AGEs purchased at $40.91 and $1609.00 respectively. They bring me no real enjoyment whereas every Morgan or Large Cent I ever overpaid for still please me when I look at them. Oh well, probably would have blown that money on wine or women anyhow. :)

We've all overpaid at times or had the market turn on us like a mad dog, but the real question is, even if you are underwater on the coin...do you still love it? That's the only question I ask myself about my personal collection, as opposed to coins I bought to sell or flip.
