normal rim: "E PLURIBUS UNUM - IN GOD WE TRUST 2007 P " ------------- "Error" rim: "E PLURIBUS UNUM - IN GOD WE TRUST _ 2007 P" (the underscore above is there because the forum ignores extra spaces between words for some reason.. try it.. ever wonder why no one puts 2 spaces after a period?? they do.. forum software "fixes" it. hmm.. Those of you who have CUT AND PASTE the phrases into your epay auctions.. they turn out pretty silly looking) In the above example, the error edge looks like this when the date area is facing you.. "TRUST 2007 P E PLURIBUS" variations exist, but basically the coin SLIPPED when rolling across the edge lettering mechanism.. causing a wider than normal gap SOMEWHERE, and a narower gap somewhere else. I've got some poor pictures of the ONE I found in about 350 searched. I don't have the coin in hand anymore, it went off somewhere special... but I'll post the fuzzy pic if no one else says "I've got 80 of those:
I don't know if I hears of this error. Might have been posted on here before though. Nice find. I'd like to see the pic, that is if you don't mind. Phoenix
Certinly.. I didn't uploat the one I had because it is fuzzy, and I wanted to take a better shot. I did not take the better picture before I mailed the coin off... so here is the picture I have. The coin on top is the odd one. You can see the mint marks "P" lined up, and the lettering to the right of that MISaligned. (or NOT aligned, depending on wether or not you consider it an error).
Farther..for focus to work, but then you couldn't see the letters.. it was frustrating with the $60 camera. I tried all kinds of ways to get that shot. My camera's focus kept blurring no matter what. I know its me not the camera.. I was rushed. For other pictures later I figured out that the magnifying lens I have can go over the camera lens.. unfortunately the coin has been sent off now. I have a picture of one that is being sent to me that is clear.. but the coin isn't in my hands.
washington dollars; ok ; enough is enough ,about these dollars, when the first error was found ,that was great, somebody ,put them on ebay and made some money, good for him,bad for the fool that paid the price, and now thousands and thousands, have surfaced in differnt variations, from missing letters,no lettering, and upside down lettering,( COME ON PEOPLE WAKE UP ) you are being RIPPED OFF if you think that these coins are of any value ( EXCEPT FACE ) i bought 2 rolls in one found 6 upside down and the other i found 8 all denver, whatsup with this picture, lets get real, even in 20 yrs, they will still be worth what they are today mabe even less,LISTEN UP PEOPLE,has the mint made a formal announcement, that they were error coins,NO<NO<NO<NO,all that they have said ,was that they made a mistake. and did not say that they will be cassified,as a error coin,as far as the ones that i have,i personally plan on getting mine into circulation,in an way that they cant be collected,as far as in concerned and in my opinion,AND I DO HAVE ONE,and one other important point, these coins should, have been, classified as ( COMMS ) not coins, because as coins ,they will go the way, that the ( SAGS ) and the susan b went, all fell by the wayside,
Calm down my friend. If you don't want to read any more about the DeadPrez dollars and their "errors", there is an extremely simple way to avoid them - don't click on any thread title that mentions them. From the volume of threads and their posts, it is clear that a large number of members enjoy them, and maybe even learn something from them. That's what CoinTalk is all about. The Mint doesn't "announce", "classify", or otherwise authenticate errors. Collectors do! That's your opinion, and you are certainly entitled to it. Neither those who agree or disagree with that opinion, or any other, may be insulted at CoinTalk because of their beliefs. Mutual courtesy and respect is another thing that CoinTalk is all about.
I like my prez errors.. my kids are getting introduced to coin collecting because of them... If the final lesson is "see what hype can do" thats okay too.

Otherwise they would have totally been twins I'm not selling.. took me 6 hours to drive to get them and one $180 speeding ticket haha..
