A little rough but I see some HIGH prices on NGC for this coin.

    1903 1/12 Tanga.

    Needs an acetone bath, maybe.

Any thoughts on value? 960,000 mintage. DSC08216.JPG DSC08217.JPG

I have no idea what catalogue says. The problem is lower grade coins don't receive values like US ones do. That's a hard one to grade, since obverse looks like a g or vg, yet the reverse crown has Vf details. Interesting coin though, never seen one like it. Where did you get it?

I go through LOTS of coins every month. Was in a group of about 30lbs.

I'd hang onto Indian coinage since there seems to be increasing interest in India.

Ok, so that coin is very very very rare in MS grades. It can be found here in Portugal but mostly looking like that or not a lot better. Of course, value wise... given that we have such a small market, only high grades are really valued (and by high grades im not speaking of NGC/PCGS graded coin)

Thanks for the info guys! I have it up for auction. Already got a $5 bid + shipping for it. I'm happy considering I paid a few cents for it!

This is what I'd call a Tanga, so a 1/12th Tanga can't be more than a postage stamp.
