1883 Sheild Nickel Error?

    I recently came across this 1883 NGC graded Shield Nickel that I believe is some sort of error (Note the 3 in the date). Any help would be appreciated.

    Don't be so quick guys, looks like something else at top of the 1 and between the ball and first 8. A possible variety? Could you post a photo enlargement of just the date as there are some in here who specialize in these. But, of course, it may be as they say also.

    Die break or chips in the top of the 1 and bottom loop of the 3. Not the 83/2 over date. Nice coin though. Nice find.
