Hey guys, I've been digging around for some Bust half dollars and came across this in an auction. It say's it's an 1819/8 but neglects to mention what appears to be a die clash just below lady liberties ear. It looks very much like the stripes from the shield. Do you think that would pull any premium? Here is a photo.

I don't think it is a clash. The design is different.

    Interesting.
I DO see it as a die clash.
But "yea" or "nay", in my experience die clashes are like die cracks.
Some people like them; others don't.
But they rarely affect a coin's value.

It looks like a die clash, not sure if it will bring any premium though.

Maybe I'm wrong. Can you provide an overlay to show that it is the same?

Yes, it is a die clash.

There are a number of them on Busties, and sometimes used to ID a particular die marriage.

Die clash from the vertical lines in the shield.
