Agreed on the subject line, I'm not a colored coin fan either, but that looks cool. I'd buy it if I could get close to spot.
I hear you. Some of these can be pretty, but I always find myself circling around to what I consider to be a "coin". Is it anything in the world someone wants to call a coin? Am I willing go down the collectible plates and beanie babies path? Or are coins something definable and different? Just in my opinion, a coin is a piece of metal struck by a government to be used in commerce. This definition leaves out guitar shaped coins, colored coins, (which would wear off in circulation), and similar. Strike a proof version of a circulating coin and I am fine with it, but in my view only I only stick with simple chunks of metal stamped out and intended for commerce. Any coloration, weird shapes, Mickey Mouse designs, etc simply are disallowed. However, I never judge others collecting choices. If you like it, good for you man and I hope you get to own one. I really mean it.
