1948-S Mint Marks

    I recently purchased a roll of 48-S Jeffersons and found three different S mint marks. One is relatively featureless like the blob S on the 1979 type I Proof set. The other is thin and uniform in thickness from tip to tip with wide fields at the curves. The last has a trumpet serif at the top and a round knob at the bottom and several of these look like they are doubled.
    Would anyone care to shed some light on these because I can,t find anything on them anywhere.

    There are verities to the mint mark on the 48-S Jefferson Nickle. That's all I know.

    Could you post some pics? I tried finding some for example in google images, and got some rather dorty pics, far from coin collecting, lol.
