How would you guys grade this Barber Quarter? Looks pretty nice to me. Is it real? Some guy wants to sell it and I have no idea what to offer.

My first question after looking at the coin was, is the coin authentic? The color and surfaces of the coin look quite sketchy to me. Aside from that, it looks cleaned although it could be the lighting.

Overall, it looks like an EF-45 - AU coin. If authentic and real it would be worth about $80-120. If couterfeit I would pay $1 if it's a bad fake or $5-8 if it's a really good fake. If the coin was only cleaned and was authentic in the grade it would probably be worth about $20-30.

    Hope this helps.

The surface doesn't look right at all. Either it's dipped in some acid or cleaning solution or the worst case it being a counterfeit but I am not too sure.

Assuming that the 2x2 its in is white it looks like the color is from the camera. It very well may be whizzed, the surfaces do look sketchy. And if it's a cast it looks fairly well made, probably too much work for a relativly high mintage date and mintmark. But then again it's eaisier to pass off a common fake than one of a rarer coin...So if it's legit I would say AU-50 from picture but probably EF in hand.

    I'll go AU-50 or XF-45.

I would say about XF-AU like everyone else. It looks okay to me, but sure have been wrong before. Still, a pretty nice coin. :thumb: Good luck on it.

25 cents, but don't try to spend it.

It has XF/AU details, but it is a problem coin. The obverse has either bad pitting of some sort, or the coin is a counterfeit.

Again I agree XF-45 but severe problems. No touchy.

I'd be willing to pay about 5 dollars for that coin. Horribly corroded or something of the like.
