    Anna,

They made close to a billion 2005 buffalo nickels and they aren't worth much more than a nickel, in fact, a nickel is exactly what they are worth. I would cash them in at your bank and take the money home. They are not as collectable as many people think they are especially to a noncolector like yourself. It's 25 dollars in nickels. That's all.

Well Anna, maybe at some time in the future you could sell them for a profit, if you have no interest in collecting then I think your best bet is to take your nickels to the bank, get your $25, and spend it for something you will enjoy having.

I don't think it is terrible of you, just as I hope you don't think I'm being terrible by not enjoying some hobby of yours.

    Good luck, whatever you decide.

Are they in rolls? If they are still in bank rolls, you could sell them on eBay for more than $25.

Have You checked them to see if the dates are legible. And if You have, what years are they most concentrated in? The teens, twenties or thirties. A 1913-S type 2 is $275 in just good condition, a 1914-D is $75 and so on and so on.
Do You know anyone that sells on Ebay? One person that replied to Your question mentioned selling them by the roll and it was a good suggestion! The rolls are selling for $25 and more if the dates are readable!
